Unlike in the other continuous drying systems, these ranges of dryers are with the mode of heating by conduction. Low temperature, gentle drying is possible in such type of dryers. The design and the selection of the dryer is decided by the wet and the dry product flow characteristics, lump / crust formation tendency and the thermal sensitivity. These dryers are normally design for a single product, single capacity requirements.
The dryer capacity and performance depends on the available heat transfer area and the operating conditions for the specific product. The dryer sizing is defined in terms of the heat transfer capacity. |

| A steam tube bundle like a heat exchanger is rotated in stationary housing. The lifters provided on the tube bundle lift the material and showered them on to the hot tune bundle surface. The drying time can be easily adjusted in such dryer. The tube bundle dryer can be with open or close hoods. |

| These are like screw conveyors. Steam, hot water or oil passes through the outside jacketed trough and the hollow shaft screw. The heat transfer by conduction ensures the evaporation and drying. The screw is designed for effective mixing and proper cleaning of heat transfer surfaces. |
